Caravan and Camping Site Licensing

Summary

The council is responsible for the licensing and maintenance of standards on caravan sites within the district.

There are over 120 licensed caravan sites in the Lancaster City Council area. These vary from a single holiday caravan on a farm to large, multi use sites with over 600 units.

These may be touring, static holiday, residential (often referred to as mobile home sites or park homes), or any combination of these.

Owners of caravan sites must, subject to certain exemptions, hold an appropriate site licence which, although free of charge, must have planning permission or a certificate of lawful development.

Apply Online

You can apply online for the relevant licence on our caravan and camping site licence main page.
