Communal Heating Charge (Council Housing)
Summary
In some Sheltered Schemes and blocks of flats there is a communal boiler which provides the heating and hot water for the properties. If you live in one of these properties, the costs of this are included in your rent. The charge is calculated by dividing the annual cost of energy to the boiler by each flat, depending on its size.
