Conservation - Built Environment
Summary
The Forward Planning Team maintains the Listed Buildings catalogue for Lancaster District. The district has around 1,300 Listed Buildings, 37 Conservation Areas and 38 Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The protection and enhancement of these assets forms a major part of the Forward Planning Team's work.
Conservation Officers provide built-environment conservation advice and guidance, often in relation to development proposals.
