Event Safety
If you are organising an event, however large or small, you should identify a suitably competent event safety co-ordinator who will be responsible for the health and safety of everyone who attends the event.
Consideration should be given to:
• Selection and monitoring of contractors and arrangements for liaison
• Provision for risk assessments
• Preparation and monitoring of site rules
• Road closure applications and implementation
• Checking safety certificates (eg electrical equipment, structures)
• Comprehensive public liability insurance
• Communication of safety information on site
• Monitoring of safety performance on site
• Arrangements for disabled people
• Co-ordination of emergency response
