Home Safety Quiz
The Home Safety Quiz is a well established annual event which reaches more than 1,000 children across the district and is always met with enthusiasm and interest by teachers and pupils alike.
Each year staff from Environmental Health visit around 40 local primary schools to undertake the Home Safety Quiz heats with year 6 pupils. Topics include, fire safety, water safety, chemical and medicine safety, DIY / garden safety, electrical safety and burns and scalds.
The top four scoring schools are then invited to take part in the Annual Home Safety Quiz Final held at Morecambe Town Hall each June. The final, has been kindly sponsored for the past few years by the Lancaster Round Table.
The teams are put through their paces with five rounds of challenging questions relating to home safety, accident prevention and first aid.The quiz culminates in an exciting quick fire buzzer round and schools have the chance to win cash prize's and gift vouchers.
