Recycling (Bins and Boxes)

Summary

The council provides recycling containers and operates a fortnightly kerbside recycling scheme for the majority of the district.

  • A green wheeled bin is provided for green garden waste.
  • Two green boxes (yellow lids) are provided for cans, glass, and plastic bottles.
  • A black box (red lid) is provided for paper and cardboard.
  • Textiles can be placed in a clearly labelled carrier bag and placed next to the recycling boxes for collection.

Please ensure your recycling bins and boxes are available for collection from 7am on your collection day.

Residents of Lancaster district can also get reduced price compost bins through the County Council. Lancashire County Council.
