Register of Electors

Summary

The electoral register is a list of the names and addresses of those people eligible to vote in the district. You can add your name to the register and it will appear in the next monthly update of the published register. You can also update your details if you have changed address.

You need to be on the register to be able to vote. You are not automatically registered, even if you pay council tax. It can affect your credit rating if you are not registered to vote.

You can also check that your details appear on the register and obtain (for a £10 fee) a certificate of residence that confirms your name and address details as they appear in the register.
