Abandoned Vehicles
We will remove abandoned vehicles from the public highway.
To report an abandoned vehicle:
Please provide as much of the following information about the vehicle as possible:
- Make and model (eg Ford Fiesta)
- Colour
- Registration Number
- Exact location (eg outside number 7 George Street, Lancaster)
- General condition of vehicle
What is an abandoned vehicle?
- One with no road tax disc or a road tax disc that has expired for over a month
- A vehicle left on any land in the open air in such circumstances or for such a period that it may be reasonably assumed to be abandoned, or, if the vehicle had been brought to the piece of land for the purpose of abandonment
Further Information
- We aim to begin investigations within 24 hours. The maximum time taken to begin investigations will be 3 working days.
- We aim to remove vehicles in 24 hours from the point at which we are entitled to do so.
