Consultation on the use of the word 'Taxi' by private hire companies
At the proprietors' forum on 18 April 2013, a consultation started on whether it is appropriate for private hire vehicles to have the world 'Taxi' on company door signs. The consultation will run for two months and will close on 9 July 2013.

United Utilities sewer upgrade - disruption to Lancaster Bus Station
Due to work on the Lancaster sewer network by United Utilities, there is currently a temporary partial closure of the bus station on Damside Street, and the bus station taxi rank has been temporarily moved to Dalton Square. To book a taxi during the current sewer works, taxi customers are advised to use a local telephone directory or internet search engine.
