About the trainer
Kevin McKay is an experienced health and safety trainer with nearly 20 years' experience. As health and safety advisor for the council's Environmental Services department, he is responsible for training hundreds of employees every year and ensuring safe work practices across a range of different activities including refuse collection, tree felling, street cleaning, repairs and maintenance.
A fully qualified health and safety trainer for IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Kevin provides IOSH Managing Safely for all Lancaster City Council management, for which he has a 100% pass rate.
He also trains all LCC staff on behalf of Trust Medical (Morecambe) in Emergency First Aid at Work, a 1 day course, and First Aid at Work, which is a 3 day course, for which he has a 100% pass rate.
As a former refuse supervisor, he also has the on the ground practical experience of the importance that good health and safety practices make to an organisation.
This wide-ranging experience, as well as the requisite qualifications and knowledge, makes him the ideal trainer.
