Welcome to the Community Safety web pages.
The following pages provide information and advice on reducing crime and antisocial behaviour in the Lancaster district as well as information relating to the Lancaster District Community Safety Partnership (CSP).
The CSP was set up in 1998 under the Crime and Disorder Act. This Act put a statutory duty on agencies to work together to reduce crime, disorder, antisocial behaviour on a district wide basis. In Lancaster our priorities are; criminal damage, street cleanliness, antisocial behaviur, serious acquisitive crime, alcohol related violent crime, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and fire and road safety. Woven through these objectives is the requirement to improve our links and engage the local community. The CSP concentrates some of its resources on linking to those members of the community who cause the most damage i.e. its prolific offenders.
