Launch of Just Bin It campaign
On Monday 25th July we launched of our Just Bin It campaign.
Hundreds of people flocked to see the great big pile of litter that we dumped in Market Square to demonstrate how much litter gets dropped in our district each day.
The message is clear: litter spoils our district and it’s up to everyone to take responsibility for it.
We've also been in Carnforth and Morecambe to spread the message.
We've been handing out Golden Tickets to anyone caught putting litter in a bin, giving them a chance to enter our Prize Draw. Watch out - you could be next!
Now we want everyone to get involved in the Just Bin It campaign.

A load of old rubbish!
Tell us what you think and send us your photos of the district – what makes you proud to live here and what are the things that you think spoil it? We want photos of your favourite beauty spots, your worst grot spots, and we want to know how you think the problem could be tackled.
Upload your photos to our Facebook page, and have a look at all the photos of our beautiful district.
The council spends £1.6 million each year cleaning up litter. This comes out of your council tax which means that even if you don't drop litter, you're still picking up the bill for removing litter belonging to those who do. Read more.
