Local Wind Turbines

Local Wind Turbines

Many of us are now aware of the increasing threat posed by climate change to our way of life, and the need to adapt and improve our environment.

We use lots of energy in our everyday lives, from the car to household appliances. By being energy aware and efficient, you can help cut down your home or business energy costs, whilst being more environmentally friendly.

For some great energy advice and grants, please follow the links below.

Home Energy Saving Tips

From draughts to dishwashers and lightbulbs to loft insulation, find out what you can do to make your home more efficient with these energy saving tips.

Act on CO2

Calculate your carbon footpront and find out simple ways to reduce it.

Your carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by you or your organisation. These greenhouse gas emissions come from the way you choose to travel (by bike, car or plane for example), how you heat your home, what electrical appliances you use and many other things.

Microgeneration & Planning Permission

More and more people are looking into the possibility of equipping their homes with micro generating technology such as wind turbines and solar panels. Visit Lancaster City Council's page on planning permission to find out more information about conditions on microgeneration. Alternatively, you can email our Development Control team.
