One Million Climate Jobs

One Million Climate Jobs

Following the example of the Trans Africa Climate Caravan of Hope (www.paja.org), which carried the message of climate justice to the UN talks in Durban, the Campaign Against Climate Change Trade Union Group is organising a Climate Jobs Caravan here in Britain

Based on the Million Climate Jobs report, produced with the help of the CWU, PCS, TSSA & UCU trade unions, the Caravan will highlight how creating climate jobs can help us tackle the twin crises of the economy and climate change

To mark the arrival of the caravan in Lancaster, the Sustainablity Partnership have organised a series of events to be held during the week beginning 21st May 2012

Ryelands Park – Come and see designs on the ground

The Ryelands Park Concept Plan project team have organised a couple of events so people in the area can visit the park and have a chat with the designer and the team about the draft plan for the park, actually in the park where it's easier to imagine the opportunities for change and improvement.

On Wednesday 16 May 6-8pm they’re going to tour the park, talking about different areas as we go round.

On Sunday 20 May 2-4pm they’re going to have some fun marking out the designs on the ground.

They’re meeting outside Ryelands House at the entrance for both events - For further information please see the websites www.facebook.com/ryelandspark and www.lancaster.gov.uk/ryelandspark.
