Welcome to the Community Safety web pages. The following pages provide information and advice on reducing crime and antisocial behaviour in the Lancaster district as well as information relating to the Lancaster District Community Safety Partnership (CSP).
The CSP was set up in 1998 under the Crime and Disorder Act. This Act put a statutory duty on agencies to work together to reduce crime, disorder, antisocial behaviour on a district wide basis. In Lancaster our priorities are; criminal damage, street cleanliness, antisocial behaviur, serious acquisitive crime, alcohol related violent crime, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and fire and road safety. Woven through these objectives is the requirement to improve our links and engage the local community. The CSP concentrates some of its resources on linking to those members of the community who cause the most damage i.e. its prolific offenders.

Clean Sweep
Lancaster’s Community Safety Partnership carries out regular multi-agency Clean Sweep operations in priority areas around the district, ridding the area of ‘crime and grime’ to make the area look and feel safer. Areas are identified through statistical analysis and community intelligence to determine areas that are most in need of environmental clean up and enforcement action for criminal and anti-social behaviour. For more information and dates for upcoming Clean Sweep operations view the Clean Sweep pages.
