New guidance on social housing allocation
Housing allocation is all about the way that we allocate council accommodation to applicants on the housing waiting list. The government is currently consulting on new draft statutory guidance on social housing allocations for local authorities in England.

Food Hygiene Training
A keen group of council tenants, scheme managers and members of the Marsh Community Centre recently completed an NVQ Level 2 training certificate in food hygiene.

The training was provided by Lancaster Adult College as part of the Council Housing Tenant Training Programme, and tutor Jan presented the course in a fun and interactive way. As our Tenant Support Officer Juliet Grant said "everyone who attended really enjoyed the day and are all looking forward to the presentation event when they will receive their certificates".
The group are now qualified to safely provide food and refreshments at community events.
