Finding Information

There are five main ways of finding information on this site:

1.       Homepage

The homepage has direct links to our most requested pages (Quick Links) and to our online services (Do It Online). It also shows a selection of current news items (News) and the current main news or information feature.

Return to the homepage from any other page on the site by clicking on the council logo in the top left corner, or by clicking on the ‘Home’ link above the page title.

2.       Search

Use the search box to type in your own word(s) and carry out a search for the word(s) on the website. The search box is at the top left of every page.

It is best to use one or two key words rather than a long sentence.

There is also an advanced search facility available to help you narrow down your choice.

3.       Choose a Category

On the home page, the right hand menu lists the main categories of information on the site. You can select main categories or a selection of sub-categories from this menu.

On any other page on the site, categories can be selected from the dropdown list in the top right of the page (Choose Another Category).

4.       A-Z

The A-Z is an alphabetical listing of all the main council services and departments.

Search the A-Z by clicking on the A-Z link in the top blue menu on every page. Then simply click on the first letter of the service or information you are looking for.

5.       Site Map

The site map shows all the main categories of information on the site.

Access the site map by clicking on the Site Map link in the top blue menu on every page. Then click on any part of the site map to go to the relevant category.
