Join one of our guides and embark on an illuminating tour. Inside you’ll discover the mayor’s official parlour, the council chamber and the impressive Ashton Hall, before being ‘sent down’ from the old courtrooms into the atmospheric subterranean police cells. Along the way, uncover gems including the Olympic torch, Gillow’s centrifugal table, and the Ashton Hall’s grand concert organ.

Facilities and access

Tours begin from the front entrance of the Town Hall at the top of the steps underneath the portico . Pay and display car parks available nearby. Limited toilet facilities. Access via stairs during this tour.
