Recent studies have indicated that Lancaster has one of the highest levels of accidents.
The accidental death rate for men in Lancaster is 37 per 100,000 compared with 22 in England and Wales. The number of lives lost due to accidents in Lancaster was almost double the national figure for the period 2002 - 2004.
With this in mind, Lancaster Accident Prevention Partnership have launched a survey aimed at finding out where accidents are happening, to whom and why. It can be found on the Lancaster City Council website www.lancaster.gov.uk/accidentprevention and it only takes one minute to complete.
The survey is completely anonymous. Hopefully, the results will help the partnership take action to target particular accidents and find out if there are any trends in particular parts of the area.
