Cycling Survey for Women
Lancaster City Council is carrying out a survey to find out why local women do or don't cycle.
Lancaster City Council is carrying out a survey to find out why local women do or don't cycle.
According to the results of the 2001 census, only 2% of women in the Lancaster district regularly used a bike to get to work compared to over 5% of men.
The council's Cycling Demonstration Town Team is carrying out a short survey which will identify ways in which more women might be encouraged to go by bike for all journeys not just to work.
Once the results have been analysed and based on its findings, the team hopes to run a number of relevant activities such as training, events and focus groups.
The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and can be found on the council's cycling website - www.celebratingcycling.org.
