Top British soul and funk saxophonist, Snake Davis, will be performing at The Platform in Morecambe with his band on Saturday April 26.

Snake the 'Sax Man' is widely known for his solos on tracks such as Lisa Stansfield’s ‘Change’, M-People’s ‘Search For A Hero’ and ‘Moving on Up’ and Take That’s ‘A Million Love Songs’.  He has played and recorded with artists ranging from James Brown to Paul McCartney, The Eurythmics to Amy Winehouse and has recorded more than 400 tracks in recent years for more than 60 artistes and played live with dozens more.

Snake is in demand all over the world, playing the saxophone as well as flutes, whistles and the ancient Japanese wind instrument, the Shakuhachi.  A highly talented player, he is also a musical director (Heather Small and M-People), a writer and arranger, bandleader and is sought after for his work in education.

Snake and his band will be playing music from their new album which has recently been released, as well as some old favourites. His audiences are used to an entertaining, uplifting musical treat and on this tour they will not be disappointed.  As always, his love of soul music comes through in his playing as well as jazz, funk and world music.

The band are Snake Davis – sax, flutes, shakuhachi and whistle, Paul Birchall – keyboards, Bryan Hargreaves – drums and Ed Poole – bass.

The show will start at 8pm. Tickets cost £11 adults, £10 concessions, and are available from the Box Office on 01524 582803.
