Get ready to give your taste buds a treat from August 29 to 31 as Morecambe's Festival Market plays host to visiting traders from across the continent.
The Continental Market will occupy over 220 metres of additional stalls in the car park of the Festival Market, which will be open an extra day on the Friday, and provide a range of gastronomic delights.
On offer will be such gourmet treats as paella - cooked on huge skillets - traditional French cheeses, crepes, olives, Brittany biscuits, dried fruits and nuts, Corsica sausages, baguettes, continental beers sold from a Viking ship, olive oil, sweets and chocolates, seafood, garlic potatoes and Bratwurst sausages.
As well as fine edible goods, you will also be able to choose from a wide range of products including Marseille soap, Paris handbags, Lavender, porcelain, Italian Pachminas and Cashmere jumpers, Dutch wooden flowers and Polish Amber jewellery.
So come along, tuck into some fine produce from across Europe and enjoy some 'bargains by the sea' as this little piece of Morecambe becomes more like a continental town for three days.
The Festival Market, which is operated by Lancaster City Council, is open every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and all Summer Bank Holidays 9am to 5pm (4.30pm during the winter). Contact T Bruce on 01524 414251 or tbruce@lancaster.gov.uk for further details and event programme times.
