Youngsters cycle their way through summer

Lancaster City Council is offering local children lessons in how to ride a bike.

Lancaster City Council is offering local children lessons in how to ride a bike.

The course, which is based at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, is for children from the age of 4 who still use stabilisers or don’t know how to ride a bike.

The plan is for children to get on a bike with no stabilisers and no pedals, so they can learn to balance before progressing to pedalling.

Learning to ride a bike isn’t easy and does take some skill, especially at a young age, so why not take up this opportunity and give your kids a chance to try something different over the summer.

The course is just £5 and takes place on Wednesday, 27 August from 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm.

Each child must be accompanied by an adult and bring a roadworthy bike.

Stabilisers and pedals will be removed during the session.

To book a place for your child please call 01524 582392 or email celebratingcycling@lancaster.gov.uk
