Recyclable waste collections will continue to alternate as normal.
Remember to recycle as much as possible this festive season, many of the items we use at Christmas can be recycled including glass, cans, plastic bottles, cardboard and paper in your kerbside boxes.
Although no additional recycling service will be provided, the Council will always collect additional recyclables put out for collection.
Please ensure all glass is within the green boxes with yellow lids and all cardboard cut down to fit within the boxes. Additional paper, cans, card and plastic bottles can be put out in separate, clearly labelled carrier bags.

Coun Jon Barry, cabinet member with responsibility for waste and recycling, said: "I hope that people have a great Christmas but that they will remember to recycle as much as they can.
“The City Council's recycling rates have risen during 2008 and I hope that this will continue into the new year."
To reduce the amount of waste you throw away this Christmas why not try some of the following recycling tips:
Christmas cards – Last year over 1,450 tonnes of Christmas Cards were recycled across the UK enabling the Woodland Trust to plant 17,000 trees. Christmas cards can be taken to Lancaster Town Hall, Morecambe Town Hall, WHSmith and Marks & Spencer in Lancaster or Tesco Carnforth to be recycled and help the Woodland Trust’s Tree for All campaign.
Alternatively, consider sending e-cards instead or some work places just donate the money they would have spent on cards to a charity of their choice.
Christmas trees – This year you can support St John’s Hospice with your old Christmas Tree (real trees only), they will arrange to collect the tree from you in return for a donation of £4. For more information telephone 01524 382538 or visit www.sjhospice.org.uk.
Gift wrap and cards – Wrap gifts in scarves, tea towels or towels to give an unusual and practical twist to unwrapping the presents under the tree. Or why not try gift bags, stockings or reused wrapping paper from last year to help reduce waste.
Bulky waste and unwanted gifts – If you get a new sofa, TV or other large item this Christmas don’t forget to contact us on 01524 582491 to arrange to have the old one collected. Any unwanted gifts can always be taken to a local charity shop, toys and games can also be given to hospitals and schools.
