Find out more about volunteering opportunities
DO you have an hour or two to spare which could be used to help others?
Do you have an hour or two to spare which could be used to help others?
If so, then why not pop along to a volunteering event in Lancaster.
On Tuesday February 26 the Banqueting Suite at Lancaster Town Hall is the venue for this special event, where members of the public can find out more about voluntary work.
A diverse range of organisations will be on hand to discuss some of the opportunities which are available to people living in the district.
Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people. There are no age limits to volunteering – current volunteers range from 16 to 86 - so there is something for everyone.
There is no need to pre-register for the event – simply drop-in to the Banqueting Suite between 1pm and 3pm. The event has been organised by Lancaster District 50 Forward project, one of only eight such pilot projects around the country which aims to help older people lead active lives.
It has been designed in partnership with Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council, Department of Work and Pensions, FOPS, Age Concern Lancashire, Signposts and the Lancaster District Older People's Partnership.
