Have you lost your dog?

Lancaster City Council is urging dog owners who have lost their pets within the last week to get in touch.

Lancaster City Council is urging dog owners who have lost their pets within the last week to get in touch.

Due to technical problems the telephone system at Morecambe Town Hall has been out of order for much of this week.

Dog owners have therefore been unable to check if their pet has been picked up by the dog wardens.

Mark Woodhead, from Lancaster City Council's environmental health department, explained: "Due to the problems with our telephone system people would have had no means in reporting that their dog was lost.

"We are very keen to reunite any dogs that have been taken to the kennels with their owners. If anybody has lost their dog recently they should contact the kennels on 07930 651489, with a full description of their pet.

"Now our phone system is back up and running they can also report missing dogs to our Dog Warden Service on 01524 582757."
