The Spring/Summer 2008 Platform and Dome brochure is now available. This sparkling season features a full and varied programme of shows and events for all the family.
Highlights at the Platform include comedian Marcus Brigstocke, an Easter production of The Ugly Duckling, traditional American music from New Mexico with Bayou Seco who will also be holding an interactive children's workshop, and an evening with former Moody Blues and Wings guitarist Denny Laine, as well as return visits from favourites such as Midge Ure, Wishbone Ash, Blazin' Fiddles and The Houghton Weavers.
Basil Brush returns to Morecambe Dome in his show 'Basil of the Caribbean' and there will be performances by Melanie, Ricky Tomlinson, The Big Ballet and This is Soul – a showcase event featuring Eddie Floyd, Geno Washington and Pauline Black.
Coun Maia Whitelegg, Cabinet Member with responsibility for festivals and events said: "I am delighted to see that Lancaster City Council's premier venues, the Platform and Dome, have such an exciting and diverse programme of entertainment for the first half of 2008. Local residents are fortunate to have this quality entertainment on their doorstep and visitors to the area will also be able to enjoy it."
