The Marrakesh Express tour at Morecambe Dome

A musical journey featuring the music of the Byrds and Crosby Stills Nash and Young comes to Lancaster City Council's Morecambe Dome on Saturday 26th January.

A musical journey featuring the music of the Byrds and Crosby Stills Nash and Young comes to Lancaster City Council's Morecambe Dome on Saturday 26th January when Diesel Park West will perform their Marrakesh Express show.

The last four years of the sixties saw American music deliver its definitive response to the Beatles astronomical impact on everyone.  Whatever had been going down in NYC and even in London was a creative subordinate to the shimmering rock of the West Coast.

The Byrds had ignited spirits with their Tambourine Man hit being responsible for connecting people to the sound of electric guitar and harmony.  Ground breaking and unsurpassed records followed before they imploded into an inevitable starburst around the end of 1968.  What followed from a former Byrd, a restless Holly and a highly rated Buffalo Springfielder, immediately seized the times with a soulful and harmonic literacy never heard before or since.

Crosby, Still and Nash, later with Neil Young, laid out the template for virtually all singer-songwriters to this day.

The Marrakesh Express Tour aims to provide a live experience starting with the cosmic folk rock of the Byrds going through to the Four Way Street of CSNY, delivering an unforgettable selection of Americas greatest rock.  Expect to hear 'Turn, Turn, Turn', 'Eight Miles High', 'So You Want to be a Rock ` N Roll Star', 'Wooden Ships', 'Ohio' and many more in one tremendous show.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £12.50 from the Box Office on 01524 582803.
