A new edition of the Lancaster District Business Directory has been produced by Lancaster City Council.
The Directory is available free of charge to companies located within the district, and for a small charge to those based elsewhere.
With over 900 local businesses listed, including contact details and information on the goods and services they provide, the aim of the directory is to encourage trade between local companies and to help promote those companies’ goods and services outside the district. It also serves as a useful promotional tool in encouraging businesses from further afield to consider Lancaster and Morecambe as a base for relocation or expansion.
The Directory contains detailed information on business support services and commercial sites, and on developments taking place across the district. There is also a comprehensive “Useful Contacts” section listing various business-related agencies and organisations throughout the North West.
Coun Abbott Bryning, cabinet member with responsibility for employment opportunities and regeneration in Lancaster said: “The Business Directory is an invaluable source of information for anybody who is either in business or considering setting up in business within the Lancaster District. It not only serves to demonstrate the diversity of our local business base, but also to help our district’s companies to buy local wherever possible, and to identify and develop new markets”.
The Business Directory is based on a database of local company information that is regularly updated. It includes those companies who provide business to business services and products. All the companies listed will automatically receive a copy, and anyone else wishing to obtain a copy can do so by contacting Lucy Caldwell on 01524 582279. The database is also available as listings and mailing labels.
