May half-term fun for children with Lancaster City Council

Lancaster City Council is offering a variety of sports and arts activities during the May half-term holidays for children aged between 4 and 16 years old.

Lancaster City Council is offering a variety of sports and arts activities during the May half-term holidays for children aged between 4 and 16 years old.

Throughout the programme you’ll find a tempting choice of workshops for 4 to 7 year olds, some of which have a minimal charge, as they are run in partnership with the Adult College family learning department.

If you have a head for heights try Knowsley Safari Park’s Aerial Extreme, the new adventure ropes course (variety of height levels available).  Or activities such as kayaking and aerial runway adventures at Lakeside on Lake Windermere.

Other favourites on offer include wet and dry day, archery, trampolining, tri-golf or for the more daring why not try the indoor climbing/abseiling, skiing and self defence courses.

There is something for everyone during the May half term holiday with the variety of courses Lancaster City Council can offer.

All sessions are in a fun and safe environment by experienced coaches with full day and half day activities available. Equipment is provided for all courses and transport is on offer for some of the sessions (see the activity programme information booklet for more information). Different age groups apply to certain activity workshops. Places on all the activities offered are strictly limited to ensure a high quality coaching session.

A copy of the activities programme is also available from Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Lancaster and Morecambe Town Halls, Lancaster and Morecambe Tourist Information Centres and the council's community pools at Hornby, Carnforth and Heysham.

Places can be booked and paid for only at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm (from 10am to 7pm on Wednesday) or by contacting the booking information line on 01524 842493, between the same times.

But you’ll have to be quick - places fill up very quickly for these popular activities!
