With summer just around the corner, it's time to launch the 2008 Happy Mount Park brass band concert programme.
Organised by Lancaster City Council with support from Happy Mount Park Catering (Café In The Park), this year's programme starts on Sunday May 25 with the Morecambe Senior Band.
Proving to be as popular today as they were when they started in the 1970s, these Sunday afternoon concerts regularly attract audiences of around 200 people, from across the region.
The programme will continue every Sunday up to and including September 14. Over the course of the season, the series will feature the very best of brass, drawn from across the north west. Concerts commence at 2.30pm and are free of charge, but donations are most welcome.
Happy Mount Park provides a perfect setting for the concerts and is proud of its reputation of offering attractions for all ages. As well as enjoying the music, visitors can take a stroll in the attractive parkland setting; sample the delights from the varied menu at the Café In The Park or try one of the other attractions and activities including the Happy Mount Express (Miniature Railway) or the popular Splash Park.
Seating is not provided, so all those planning to attend might wish to bring along their own chairs or hire a deckchair from the park.
