Tutti Frutti Festival inspires a competition for art students

Students from Lancaster and Morecambe College are taking part in an art competition and their designs will be exhibited and up for sale at the Tutti Frutti Festival.

Students from Lancaster and Morecambe College are taking part in an art competition and their designs will be exhibited and up for sale at the Tutti Frutti Festival.

Around thirty first year students on the National Diploma Art and Design course are currently working on their designs based around a 1950s theme.

The art competition has been arranged by the organisers of the Tutti Frutti 1950s Seaside Festival.

All entries will go forwards to the competition taking place at Lancaster and Morecambe College in June. The designs will be judged by local artist Gerry Brooks, Beryl Spelling, Chair of Poulton Neighbourhood Management and members of the Tutti Frutti Festival organising committee.

The winner will receive a £30 book token and there will be prizes for second and third place.

All of the artwork entered into the competition will be on display and available for sale at the Tutti Frutti Festival on Saturday 26th July at the Platform, Central Drive, Morecambe. Come along and see, you never know, there could be a potential Jackson Pollock on sale!
