Food businesses offered free advice

Caterers and food retailers are being offered the chance to benefit from free advice to improve the levels of food hygiene and safety in their businesses.

Caterers and food retailers are being offered the chance to benefit from free advice to improve the levels of food hygiene and safety in their businesses.

Lancaster City Council has received funding to provide free guidance on the Food Standards Agency’s ‘Safer Food, Better Business’ management system.

It is available to all businesses, including restaurants, cafes and takeaways, and is aimed at helping them comply with EU Food Hygiene Regulations.

Businesses who take part in the scheme will be given a pack containing sections on dealing with cross contamination, cleaning, chilling and cooking.

A daily diary is included to demonstrate the controls in place in these areas.

The deadline for applications is  November 14.

If you feel your business would benefit from this opportunity, contact Rachel Stainton on 01524 582707 for more details.
