Visitors to Remembrance Sunday parades in Lancaster and Morecambe will be able to park for free.

Lancaster City Council is suspending parking charges on the car parks at the Bay Arena (next to the Dome) in Morecambe and Nelson Street in Lancaster on Sunday November 9.

The Mayor of Lancaster, Coun Keith Budden, said: "Remembrance Sunday is an important day as it allows us all to remember those who have given their lives for the peace and freedoms that we all enjoy.

"As a gesture of respect the council is suspending charges on these two car parks so people can pay their respects at the war memorials in Lancaster and Morecambe."
