Fun and Furry Frolics at Lancaster City Council’s Dog Fun Day

Did you know that last year, the council rescued 276 abandoned or stray dogs?

Did you know that last year, the council rescued 276 abandoned or stray dogs?

That’s why Lancaster City Council has teamed up with the RSPCA and Dogs Trust to offer free microchipping, ID tagging, training and neutering to all dog owners living in the north Lancaster area at a special event to be held later this month.

The Dog Fun Day will take place on Wednesday, 29 October from 10am to 3pm in Ryelands House, Ryelands Park, Lancaster when dog owners will be given the chance to have their pets chipped for free and meet experts from the RSPCA and Dogs Trust who will be on hand to offer advice.

Everyone turning up on the day will also be entitled to a free ID tag and all those claiming any type of benefit will be entitled to a free neutering voucher.  Don’t forget to bring along some form of proof of receipt.

Lune Valley Dog Training Club will also be there to provide three free training sessions on the day. The first training is at 10:30am for puppies only, and then two more sessions will be at 12:30pm and 2:30pm for all dogs.

So if you live in the Ryelands, Vale, Mainway, Beaumont or Skerton areas of Lancaster and have a dog, come along with your four legged friend and join in the fun.

For more information contact Juliet Grant on 01524 582587 or look out for posters in your area.
