Since the debut tour of 2001, the UK just can't get enough of this incredible Manouche Gypsy musician from France who is a master of the style originated by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli at the Hot Club of Paris. Leading light of the Parisian Gypsy jazz scene and one of the most versatile guitarists of our time, Angelo Debarre returns to the UK this Autumn, to promote his new CD 'Live at Le Quecumbar'.
Angelo will be joined by guitarist and accompanist to many of the great gypsy guitarists, Dave Kelbie of Szapora, Fapy Lafertin and Birelli Lagrene, virtuoso bass player Andy Crowdy and brilliant young violinist Christian Garrick. Garrick is fast becoming a jazz violin superstar. Four solo albums now behind him and a feature in Strad magazine, he has the British jazz scene on its knees. A continuous stream of ecstatic reviews and consistently brilliant performances has raised this young musician's profile to that of a musician generations older.
Moving and exhilarating, this performance is a rare opportunity to glimpse into one of the world's oldest cultures and to sample a truly European contribution to jazz played by one of the masters of the style.
