Cycling lessons get kids on the move

As the majority of children return to school this week, Lancaster City Council is offering its own lessons in how to ride a bike.
The two hour course, which takes place at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, is for children from the age of 4 who still use stabilisers or don’t know how to ride a bike.
The plan is for children to get on a bike with no stabilisers and no pedals, so they can learn to balance before progressing to pedalling.
Learning to ride a bike isn’t easy and does take some skill, especially at a young age, so why not take up this opportunity and give your kids a chance to try something different over the summer.
Two sessions are being run this Saturday (6 September) starting at 10am and 1pm and cost just £5.
Each child must be accompanied by an adult and bring a roadworthy bike.
Stabilisers and pedals will be removed during the session.
To book a place for your child please call 01524 582392.
