Don't let a dodgy ladder shatter your life

Lancaster City Council is backing a campaign which gives companies the opportunity to part-exchange broken, damaged or bent ladders for new ones.
The council is working in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive to highlight the potential dangers of using a dodgy ladder.
Falls from height continue to be the main cause of death in the workplace and one of the main causes of serious injury.
Around a third are as a result of a fall from a ladder with the main causes being ladders breaking, the user slipping from the ladder or the ladder wobbling.
Linking into the HSE's Shattered Lives campaign, the city council's health and safety inspectors will be targeting companies and businesses where ladders are used, to ensure that this important piece of equipment is up to the job.
If it isnt they will be making sure that it is removed from the workplace.
Last year 4,194 ladders nationally were taken out of the workplace during the campaign.
This year the aim of the campaign is to remove another 4,000 dodgy ladders throughout September.
So if you have a ladder which is bent, broken or battered you can part exchange it for a new one with a discount of up to 50% at any of the companies listed below.
