Have your say- consultation sessions for new arts strategy

Lancaster City Council is holding a series of consultation events to find out what people in the district would like to see included in a new arts strategy.

Lancaster City Council is holding a series of consultation events to find out what people in the district would like to see included in a new arts strategy.

Four two hour sessions are being held at the end of September and the beginning of October to provide an opportunity for people to have their say.

The information will be used to produce a new vision for the arts across the entire district.

Coun Jane Fletcher, cabinet member with responsibility for the arts, said: “This is a critical time for anyone with an interest in the arts to tell us what they think is working well in the district and what they would like to see changed or introduced.  The information that we receive will develop into a vision for the entire district that will become the main priority for the city council and the arts community. I strongly urge that people take the time to get involved and come along to one of these sessions. Everyone is welcome.”

No booking is required and refreshments will be provided.  All venues are wheelchair accessible.

The consultation events will take place at the following times and places:

Wednesday September 24, 7pm - 9pm
Old Station Buildings, Central Promenade, Morecambe.

Thursday September 25, 7pm - 9pm
Galgate Community Rooms, behind The Plough Pub, Galgate.

Wednesday October 1, 7pm - 9pm
Carnforth Station Visitor Centre, Carnforth Train Station, Warton Road, Carnforth.

Thursday October 2, 7pm - 9pm
Lancaster Town Hall Banqueting Room, Lancaster.
