Spring lunchtime concerts at The Platform
Two months of a variety of music to enjoy on your lunch hour.
A new series of lunchtime concerts starts at The Platform on Wednesday April 15. The first concert is Five In A Bar, a female a capella group who perform a wide variety of songs including folk , blues and contemporary classics. This is their second visit to The Platform, they first performed a lunchtime concert two years ago.
The remainder of the programme is as follows:
Wednesday April 22 – Sue Parish accompanied by Tom Kincaid will perform popular classics from the Golden Age of Jazz.
Wednesday April 29 – Ermysted's School band from Skipton will present a programme of standards from Basie. Ellington and Miller.
Wednesday May 6 – Janet Hoyle, one of the leading contralto singers in North Lancs, who will be singing opera with Arias from Carmen, Leider and Schubert, Spanish songs and songs from the shows.
Wednesday May 13 – Lancashire Sinfonietta Wind Quintet who will perform an informal and informative presentation of superb music for wind instruments.
Wednesday May 20 – Val Baulard and the Black Horse Jazz Men – Val sings traditional jazz standards, well loved and popular tunes, accompanied by the Black Horse Jazz Men.
All concerts start at 12.45pm and last for approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
