From Belfast, Craobh Rua play Irish music from the heart. This exciting acoustic four piece take a refreshing and unpretentious run at some of the greatest music in the world. A rich sound, acoustic driven, this is Celtic fare at its best with a mix of rousing jigs, reels, polkas with tender ballads and airs.
This is music driven by uillean pipes, fiddle, whistles and the exciting banjo and mandolin playing of group founder Brian Connolly with passionate vocals from Jim Rainey. These are impeccable musicians with arrangements that are all their own and have been liked to the first wave of the Irish folk revival of the sixties and seventies.
