Lancaster City Council is offering a variety of sports and arts activities to keep youngsters aged from 4 to 16 busy over the half term holidays (February 16 - February 20).
Exciting brand new workshops include BMX biking at Preston Pirates Club Track, snowboarding at Rossendale Ski Club, building your own nest box at Happy Mount Park or dodgeball at Salt Ayre Sports Centre.
Other favourites still on offer are karate, archery, fencing, cycle skills, multi skills and trampolining or for the more adventurous try the indoor climbing/abseiling, skiing, horseriding and mountain bike workshops.
For those looking for something with a difference why not go along to the Young Leaders workshop. This new workshop gives children the chance to complete a nationally recognised certificate from Sports Leaders UK. They will be taught basic skills needed to safely run a session for children the same age or younger as well as various communication, organisation and planning skills.
Full day and half day activities are available and take place in a fun and safe environment with experienced coaches.
Equipment is provided for all workshops and transport is on offer for some of the sessions. Different age groups apply to certain activity workshops. Places on all the activities offered are strictly limited to ensure all participants receive high quality coaching.
A copy of the activities programme and booking form is available on Lancaster City Council's website - www.lancaster.gov.uk/leisureinfo - or from Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Lancaster and Morecambe Town Halls, Lancaster and Morecambe Tourist Information Centres and the council's community pools at Hornby, Carnforth and Heysham.
Places can be booked and paid for at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm or by contacting the booking information line on (01524) 842493, between the same times. There is also another chance to pay in person at Salt Ayre Sports Centre from 10am to 7pm on Wednesdays.
But you’ll have to be quick - places fill up very quickly for these popular activities.
Cultural Services is just one of a wide range of services provided to you by Lancaster City Council. These services would not be possible without the support of the £3.52 which, on average, you pay in council tax to us each week.
