Morecambe, Lancaster and Lune Valley - Visitor Guide Launch

Lancaster City Council has launched its annual Visitor Guide to the area.

Visitor Guide front coverLancaster City Council has launched its annual Visitor Guide to the area.

The 68 page publication includes features on where to stay, out and about and top restaurants.

Marketing Officer, Mark McTigue said: “The holiday guide continues to act as a vital marketing tool in its aim to persuade potential visitors to visit and explore Morecambe, Lancaster and the Lune Valley.”

For 2009 there are a number of new accommodation businesses to tempt visitors to book for a short break including the iconic Art Deco Midland Hotel and The Ashton; one of only a few ‘5 star gold’ graded providers of guest accommodation in the whole country.

Coun Shirley Burns, cabinet Member with responsibility for tourism added:  “We hope that despite the economic downturn there will be a silver-lining where more people in this country choose to holiday at home this year. With the appearance of new businesses, the re-opening of the Midland Hotel and the continuing regeneration work across the district, we hope 2009 is as good a year as possible for tourism in our City, Coast and Countryside.”

Tourism is just one of a wide range of services provided to you by Lancaster City Council. These services would not be possible without the support of the £3.52 which, on average, you pay in council tax.
