Central Lancaster High students complete Sports Leaders Award
NINETEEN students from Central Lancaster High School recently completed the Sports Leaders UK nationally recognised award in Sports Leadership.
NINETEEN students from Central Lancaster High School recently completed the Sports Leaders UK nationally recognised award in Sports Leadership.
The course, which ran over 12 weeks and took 25 hours to complete was delivered by Lancaster City Council.
The course is designed for students aged 14 to 16 years old and gives young people their first experience of becoming a PE teacher. All participants had to complete a number of units including planning a sporting activity, communication skills, health and fitness, fair play in sport and a one hour practical coaching session.
Their coaching session took place at Skerton St Luke's Primary School working with its year 6 pupils. All 19 students who passed the award received a certificate and badge from Sports Leaders UK.
