Pick up a free cycling guide.
Lancaster City Council has produced a new free guide taking cyclists on a stunning circular tour through our city, coast and countryside.
The new ten mile ride which is the result of recent works to connect Morecambe Promenade to a new shared use path on Coastal Road and Lancaster Canal offers cyclists plenty of variety.
The ride takes you from the historic heart of Lancaster, along the car-free bustle of the Greenway (Lancaster to Morecambe cycle path), the wide open space of Morecambe’s breezy seafront to the peaceful banks of Lancaster Canal.
This is an excellent ride for all the family, the majority of which is on traffic-free paths.
All the interesting things to look out for en route as well information on refreshment and toilet stops are included in the leaflet.
Leaflets are available from Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor Information Centres, the council's Customer Service Centres at Lancaster and Morecambe Town Halls and local bike retailers and libraries. Alternatively you can send your address details to the Cycling Demonstration Town Team by email to celebratingcycling@lancaster.gov.uk or by telephone - 01524 582392 or 582616.
Copies can also be downloaded from the cycling website www.celebratingcycling.org/maps. A short video film taken during the opening ride on Sunday, 19 April can also be viewed via this website.
