ONE of Ireland’s most dynamic and versatile performers, Dominic Kirwan, will be performing at the Platform in Morecambe on Saturday October 17.
A true Irish star, with the looks and voice to match, he enthrals audiences with his fast moving and spectacular show. Dominic will be performing songs from his latest album ‘A Little Bit More’ together with many classic favourites. Two of his sons, Colm and Barry Kirwan, will be appearing on stage with him. Colm is a talented entertainer in his own right and a graduate in performing arts. Barry plays drums in his father’s band.
Dominic’s interest in music and entertainment started as a child when he became Ulster Minor Irish Dancing Champion. He formed his first band ‘The Melody Boys’ in 1979, working locally in North West Ulster. His first step to stardom was when he signed for Ritz Records (later Rosette records), which was the driving force behind Middle of the Road and Irish Country Music in the 80s and 90s.
Numerous album and video recordings followed, as Dominic built up a loyal fan base and apart from performing in up to 200 shows a year with his own concerts, he is also in great demand as a guest on the tours of American stars such as Charlie Pride, Kenny Rogers and Tammy Wynette.
Dominic’s tremendous popularity and appeal continues to extend to all age groups making him one of today’s most widely appreciated and respected artistes. Performing live is Dominic’s favourite part of the business. He gives 100% every night and strives endlessly to put on a show with something for everyone.
The concert will start at 7.30pm and tickets cost £16 from the box office on 01524 582803.
