Place Survey Results
Survey results for Lancaster district
The Place Survey was commissioned by the Government and took place across every district in the country in September 2008.
It provides a snapshot of people’s perceptions at that time and looked at a range of issues including:
Overall ratings of the area
Information and communications
Crime and anti social behaviour
Cohesion
Key public services (provided by district and county councils, NHS, police and fire) Demographics.
In this district pollsters, MORI, carried out the postal survey and received 1,267 responses.
As Lancaster City Council’s finances come under increasing pressure, not least as a result of the predicted reduction in government support, it is all the more important the council, and its partners, focus on the things that local people say are important to them.
This perception survey will help the council do just that and the results will be used to develop priorities for the coming year which, in turn, the council test with residents as part of its budget setting consultation.
