International Guitar Night at The Platform
An evening of music from three world class guitar players with completely different styles comes to The Platform in Morecambe on Saturday 3 October.
This is the third tour of this international guitar festival and the second time it has visited the Platform. Each year, the cast of the show changes, and once again, there is a wonderful and exciting array of musical talent with lots of potential for on stage interaction between the different styles.
The founder of the festival is Brian Gore from California, a melodic fingerstyle guitarist, author and impresario who has taken the festival throughout the USA, Canada and the UK.
The rest of the 2009 line up is Lulo Reinhardt from Germany, a grandson of the great Django and an exciting player in his own right. He is a fine exponent of 'gypsy jazz' but offering much more besides. Itamar Erez, an Israeli born composer, pianist and guitarist completes the bill. He plays everything from European classical to jazz, world music and beyond and his compositions have been performed by soloists, ensembles and orchestras in the Middle East, USA and Canada.
The guitarists will all play solo and together to demonstrate interplay and idea swapping by world class musicians from different musical persuasions who are all at the top of their game.
