Have your say on new planning charter
Help decide how planning applications are considered
A new charter aimed at changing the way Lancaster City Council considers major planning applications has been launched for consultation.
The document ‘Planning Performance Agreements for Major Planning Applications’ includes a framework for pre-planning application discussions with developers, statutory consultees and the local community.
Planning Performance Agreements were formally introduced by the Government as a way of managing complex development, and are nationally recognised as a method of ensuring that future proposals are sustainable and of a high quality.
The consultation runs for six weeks from Monday, 14 September 2009.
Copies of the document will be available from that date at Customer Service Centres at Lancaster and Morecambe Town Halls and via the council’s website at www.lancaster.gov.uk/ppa
