We do like to wrestle beside the sea!
Head to Morecambe for XWA wrestling on Saturday 12 September.
MORECAMBE promenade will be buzzing on the weekend of Saturday, September 12 when a special festival celebrates the traditions of the great British seaside resort.
And coinciding with the 'We Do Like To Be Beside The Sea' extravaganza is another fantastic British seaside tradition - a night of professional wrestling brought to you by the XWA.
Morecambe's much-loved seafront venue The Dome will once again rock to a fantastic evening of family entertainment when XWA presents its last show of 2009, 'Last Fight at the Prom' on September 12.
Topping the bill will be a ‘champion versus champion’ catchweight challenge as British Heavyweight Champion Sam Slam defends his title against British Flyweight Champion ‘The RockStar’ Spud.
And Morecambe heavyweight hero ‘The Psychotic Warrior’ Johnny Phere will try to earn reinstatement into British Wrestling by defeating tag team Deadly Serious in a two-on-one handicap match.
Other matches on the bill see two popular stars square off against each other as ‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm faces Joey Hayes, while ‘The Heavyweight House of Pain’ Stixx battles obnoxious chav wrestler ‘The Manchester Devil’ Declan O’Connor.
And Europe’s best female wrestler, Jetta, will also be in action in an ‘Open Challenge’ match.
XWA Wrestling will also host a very special Morecambe Raffle where funds will be raised for The Dave Preston Tribute Fund.
Dave Preston, a friend of XWA promoter and MC Greg Lambert, sadly passed away earlier this year of bowel cancer aged just 31. A charity has been set up in Dave’s honour to raise money for those affected by cancer, and proceeds from the raffle will be doubled by HSBC Bank and donated to the Tribute Fund.
XWA ‘Last Fight at the Prom’ begins at 7.30pm, doors 7pm.
Tickets range from £9 upwards. The box office number is 01524 582803 or tickets available from local tourist centres or www.xwawrestling.com.
